The Problem

Traditional tablet formulation relies on time-consuming trial-and-error, which can result in delayed product development, increased costs, and suboptimal usage of valuable APIs.

The Solution

Our approach combines comprehensive material characterization, data-driven modeling, and robust optimization algorithms to predict how different tablet compositions will perform before extensive lab trials are even needed.

By characterizing each ingredient’s pressure–density–tensile strength relationship, we can simulate the compressibility and compactibility of entire formulations digitally, exploring a wide range of possibilities in a fraction of the time. Then, an optimization algorithm predicts the most efficient formulation given manufacturing targets (e.g., pressure, tensile strength). This method reduces trial-and-error, conserves valuable APIs, and accelerates the path to an optimal product.

Our solution is currently in a prototype phase. It is still undergoing refinement and may evolve as we gather feedback.

The Opportunity

Tablets dominate oral solid dosage forms and account for a substantial share of new drug approvals. By streamlining formulation and reducing resource use, Nu Compaction can help pharmaceutical teams gain a competitive edge in bringing innovative, high-quality tablets to market faster.
